I Can't Believe It!!

Finally got my grades yesterday--4.0!! All A's!! Including Java!! How did that happen?!? I have no idea what I got on my Java final. I'm guessing the test was curved big time. But that would still mean I had one of the better grades, I think. I'm still a little shocked, since I was expecting a C in Java; a B at the very most. My semester GPA is better than Favorite Second Son's!!!! But FSS has a better overall GPA. Since some of the classes I took way back when are being put towards this new degree, those classes are included in my current GPA. Can't complain about 3.46. Now I have to keep the momentum going and continue to do well. But for now-I'm focusing on my knitting.

I'm Done!!!

After months of Java hell, I'm finally done with this semester!! You have no idea how exhausted I am-my brain actually hurts! The Java final was beyond ridiculous; after 3 days and 13 hours of suffering, I just decided to hand it in. There was no way I would do any better if I spent more time on it, so the heck with it. Java is for left brain people-very logical. I'm extremely right brain, not a logical brain cell in my body. And....I get to do it again next semester with Java II. On the plus side, I'm only taking 2 classes instead of 5.

Even through the torture, I was able to do a little knitting. My friend, Karen, asked me to make her a hat with a hole for a ponytail. Before I could design one, I found 2 patterns online. The one I ended up making was on the December 2007 MagKnits. The hat is called
Hannah, and is a quick and very cool knit.

I used Patons Shetland Chunky yarn and size 10 needles. Took about 3 hours and would make a great gift. If I wore hats I'd make one for myself. Currently I'm working on the Afghan Squared from the Lions Brand web site. It's just a big granny square, with each round a different color. I hope to get that done this week so I can mail it to DH's aunt in California. I'm also knitting the Modern Quilt Wrap that was offered on the Knitting Daily web site. It's definitely a slow knit but it is coming out nice. I'm using Knit Picks Palette yarn-the pattern calls for Rowan Kidsilk, which is waaaay too expensive plus I don't like mohair.

So, being in the great Northeast, we get to experience winter in all its glory. Today was the second storm this week, giving us at least a foot of snow and much ice. My Baby is hoping for a 2 hour delay tomorrow morning, which would make 3 Mondays in a row of delays. Meanwhile, my FSS is in Puerto Rico "training" with his college swim team. Yeah, right!
